A enduring civilization with respect and space for nature requires that housing, energy production and food production be combined in a space-saving way.

The building standard Climate Protection Superiority House is based on the goals of the 1000 sqm society, the electricity demand of the planetary renovation, the requirements to be able to create a high standard of living with little effort to make the society UBI compatible, that means that a UBI that is absurdly low for today's conditions is already sufficient for a good standard of living.

  Impressions from the conference

I myself was in the workshop “city construction change”. This was limited to how great a lot of CO2 is saved with timber construction. There was not a trace of “rethinking cities”. In the chat there were statements like “Why heat so much, you can put on one more sweater” or "Low tech is better". People also got angry about the fact that more air conditioners are being used because of climate change. So much like the motto “freezing and sweating instead of technology”.

Of course, I also have something against primitive vent air conditioners. These are unhealthy and produce a bad indoor climate. That is why the “GEMINI next Generation” house is also cooled gently via the wall surfaces. Much healthier, better indoor climate and much more efficient.

I experienced ultra-conservative views that have absolutely nothing to do with the requirements of a real energy transition and effective climate protection.

GEMINI next Generation - energy + food + living comfort GEMINI next Generation - energy + food + living comfort
What can housing cost? Where can you build? How much Energy should a house produce? How much building material is needed? GEMINI n.G. is looking for completely new answers to these questions.

Prehistory of the GEMINI next Generation project
It started in autumn 1991 with the GEMINI habitable solar power plant, 2011 with the initiative Solar Building Land and 2018 with GEMINI 66 - we build our house ourselves.

Where can and should GEMINI next Generation be built? Where can and should GEMINI next Generation be built?
Using existing land better and building where conventional houses cannot or are not allowed is an important objective of the GEMINI next Generation project.

How much energy should a house generate?
As much as possible! Because we need to get out of oil, coal, biofuel, natural gas and uranium. Our houses should contribute as much as possible.

The heat pumps have arrived The heat pumps have arrived
On December 16, 2020 paid, on January 27 the ship arrived in the Slovenian port of Koper. On February 19, the 3 heat pumps could be picked up at a forwarding agency near Salzburg.

The LiFePo4 batteries have arrived The LiFePo4 batteries have arrived
Ordered in mid-December, arrived on March 19. Low costs for electricity storage are a decisive factor for a real energy transition.

Rethinking the energy transition: The price lie Rethinking the energy transition: The price lie
The demand for “more money for climate protection” is based on the price lie. But we need more motivation, credit and opportunity for a real effective energy transition.

Summer / winter balancing of solar power - seasonal storage Summer / winter balancing of solar power - seasonal storage
Different approaches to summer/winter balancing compared. Seven different locations, from Oslo to Cairo, are examined for seasonal balancing.
